Tension gripped in Uttar Pradesh's Mau on Friday evening after a collision between two bikes escalated into a violent clash between two groups. The clash resulted in stone pelting that left police officers injured and vehicles damaged.
According to the police, the incident began with an altercation after the collision. As tempers flared, some members of a group began to throw stones, injuring Circle Officer Dinesh Dutt Mishra and Station House Officer Rajkumar Singh of Ghosi Kotwali.
The angry mob also damaged two police vehicles at the scene. The police deployed additional forces to bring the situation under control.
Mau ASP Mahesh Singh Attri said, “Two bikes collided, leading to a heated argument and injuries on both sides. Some people threw stones at the scene, and others blocked roads. We’ve spoken to residents, and they agreed to clear the roads. Further action will be based on filed complaints.”
Those injured in the clash were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Police assured that appropriate measures would be taken to address the situation and prevent further disturbances.
