Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has warned the fans that the Premier League club's rollercoaster season will continue after a come-from-behind win over Southampton. United got back to winning ways in the Premier League when Amad Diallo's stunning hat-trick helped them beat relegation-threatened Southampton 3-1.

This was Manchester United's first league win in five matches, and now the Premier League giants have a tight calendar with three matches in eight days. "I think it's going to be hard until the end of the season. It's going to be a little bit of that rollercoaster," Amorim told reporters on Friday.

"It's harder to prepare for the game when we lose. When we win, we can manage everything, expectations, a bad mood for some players. So we will prepare for the game in the same ways. I am just focused on the next game."

Amorim admitted that Manchester United's attack is far from its full flow after failing to score a single goal in three league matches before the Southampton win.

"I think this is something that you can see from the past and we were, in the past, a team of transition. And we still are," he added.

"You can feel it, to create chances in the final third, we struggle. We struggle a lot... so it is something that we have to change. To change, we need training. So to have time to change, we also need to win games and we have tried to do that."

Meanwhile, the Portuguese manager came in defence of Danish striker Rasmus H¸jlund after a far from impressive outing at Old Trafford on Thursday. Hojlund has managed to score only two goals in the Premier League season and was substituted for Joshua Zirkzee in the Southampton clash.

"I think it's a team problem. You can see it, it's not just from now, it's from the past. We have clearly a lack of goals and a lack of threat. All the players have moments in this season. I think when we started this journey together, Rasmus was the player that was always scoring. So he can come back in the next game, we will see. But I think it's more a team problem than a Rasmus problem," Amorim said.
