- Nitin Nabin announces 13 national vice presidents and 8 general secretaries
- Women appointed to five vice president roles, one general secretary post
- Union minister Piyush Goyal appointed to key post of national treasurer
Former Union minister Smriti Irani and RSS national executive member Ram Madhav returned to key organisational roles in the BJP as party chief Nitin Nabin announced his new team on Monday. Women have been prominently represented in the latest revamp – six have been named national vice presidents, while there are three national secretaries, and one national general secretary.
Irani has been appointed national general secretary while Madhav has returned as a national vice president. Union minister Piyush Goyal has been named national treasurer, while former chief ministers Biplab Kumar Deb and Tirath Singh Rawat have been appointed national general secretary and national vice president, respectively.
The announcement comes months after Nabin succeeded JP Nadda as BJP national president and ahead of the Assembly elections across five states in 2027, including Uttar Pradesh.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Baijayant Jay Panda, Rekha Verma and Tariq Mansoor have retained their positions as national vice presidents. Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal will continue as national general secretaries, while BL Santhosh remains national general secretary (organisation). Anil Antony has been retained as national secretary, while Anil Baluni will continue in a key national media role.
A notable omission from Nabin’s new team is Amit Malviya, a prominent face of the BJP’s digital and social media operations. He has been replaced by Deepak Mhaskey as national social media convenor, with Priti Gandhi, Shivanand Dwivedi, Alok Bhatt and Arun Yadav appointed co-convenors.
Several other prominent leaders from the previous team have also failed to find a place in the BJP’s new national line-up. They include Dushyant Gautam, Radha Mohan Das Agrawal, Sanjay Mayukh, Saroj Pandey, Tejasvi Surya, Laxmikant Bajpai and Arun Singh.
