Tata Motors passenger vehicles sales Jump 56% to 67,753 units in August 2026
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles reported robust sales growth in August 2026, driven by strong domestic demand and a sharp surge in electric vehicle volumes during the month.
by Saumya Shubham Jha · India TodayTata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a strong 56% year-on-year increase in total passenger vehicle sales in August 2026, with sales across domestic and international markets rising to 67,753 units, compared with 43,315 units in the same month last year.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales were the key growth driver, increasing 59% year-on-year to 65,253 units in August 2026 from 41,001 units a year earlier. International business sales also grew, albeit at a more modest pace of 8%, reaching 2,500 units compared with 2,314 units in August 2025.
The company’s electric vehicle business recorded particularly strong momentum during the month. Combined domestic and international EV sales stood at 16,549 units, marking a 94% year-on-year growth from 8,540 units in August 2025. The EV figures include sales of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.
Overall, the August numbers underline continued growth across Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ domestic portfolio, while the sharp rise in EV volumes highlights the company’s expanding presence in India’s electric mobility market.
