Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav shared a special message for Rohit Sharma after the Indian skipper became a father to a baby boy. On Friday, November 15, Rohit and his wife Ritika Sajdeh became parents for the second time. The couple, who welcomed their daughter Samaira in 2018, officially announced the joyful news to their fans and followers on Saturday.
Rohit is currently on a break to be by Ritika’s side, missing training sessions ahead of the five-match Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Tilak, who played a major role in India winning their T20I series against South Africa 3-1, congratulated them and also promised to meet them soon.
“I am really really happy, Rohit bhai. Ye moment ke lie wait kar rahe the. Agar ek adha din late ho jaata to main pahuch jaata waha pe. Aar raha hu jaldi dekhne ke lie. (We were waiting for his moment. If it was late by a day or two, I would have been there. I am coming soon),” Tilak said in a video uploaded by the BCCI.
Suryakumar also had a special message for Rohit. "We have to be ready with the small pads, side arm, bat as a little one has arrived,” Suryakumar said.
“Very very happy for Chetta (elder brother) and his family,” Samson said while congratulating Rohit.
Tilak Varma’s dream day in Johannesburg
Tilak Varma had a day to remember as India beat the Proteas by 135 runs at the Wanderers Stadium. He became the first Indian to score two hundreds in a bilateral T20I series. On Friday, November 15, Varma scored 120 runs off 47 balls with the help of nine fours and 10 sixes.
Varma was also involved in a partnership of 210 runs for the second wicket with Samson, who also scored an unbeaten 109 off 56 balls with six fours and nine sixes.
Tilak also became only the second Indian after Samson to hit back-to-back centuries in T20Is. India bowled the Proteas out for 148 in 18.2 overs. Tilak won both the awards for the Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
