India's Payal Kapadia, Halle Berry, among others join Cannes 2025 as jury members

Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who won the historic Grand Prix for 'All We Imagine As Light' last year, has joined Cannes 2025 as a jury member. Halle Berry, Jeremy Strong and several others are part of the jury.

Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, who won the Grand Prix for 'All We Imagine As Light' at Cannes 2024, has now become the jury of Cannes 2025. The Cannes Film Festival announced its jury members for the 78th edition and it includes Halle Berry, Jeremy Strong of 'The Apprentice', and South Korean filmmaker Hong Sansoo, among others.

The jury members are a perfect blend of actors, filmmakers and authors from across the globe. Juliette Binoche will lead the jury in 2025.

Italian actor Alba Rohrwacher, Congolese director-documentarist and producer Dieudo Hamadi, French-Moroccan writer Leila Slimani, Mexican filmmaker and producer Carlos Reygados are some of the other jury members.

Among the list, Jeremy Strong and Payal Kapadia were nominated for their respective works last year.

The 2025 jury will decide on the winner of the prestigious Palme d'Or from the 21 films that are competing this year. The winners of Cannes 2025 will be announced on May 24 during the closing ceremony.

The Cannes Film Festival 2025 will begin on May 13 and will go on for 10 days. French actor Laurent Lafitte will host the opening and closing ceremonies.

Hollywood actor and producer Robert De Niro will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. In addition to the lifetime achievement award, he will also conduct a masterclass for attendees on May 14 at the Debussy Theatre.
