Staying true to her simple and elegant sartorial style, Yami Gautam looked pretty in a black-and-gold saree for the National Film Awards ceremony. Her heavy gold jhumkas stole the show.

The timeless appeal of a traditional saree is what Yami Gautam trusted for the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony held in Gujarat on Tuesday.

The actress was honoured with the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for Article 370, which also won Best Feature Film at this year’s National Film Awards.

Gautam looked simply beautiful in a black-and-gold saree featuring intricate zari work. Now that’s a classic combination right there! And the actress elevated it further with stunning gold jewellery.

Her statement gold jhumkas, featuring ruby accents and intricate bird motifs, were the absolute showstoppers. She also added a gold ring to the look.

Keeping her makeup minimal, Yami added a pop of pink with fresh flowers in her hair and rounded off the look with a tiny bindi.

The actress is known for her simple yet elegant sartorial choices, and her National Film Awards look was no different.

Yami Gautam was accompanied by her husband, Aditya Dhar, who also won his second National Award for Article 370. He complemented her look in a classic black bandhgala.

The 72nd National Film Awards were presented in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, marking the first time the ceremony was held outside New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu presented the honours. Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty jointly won Best Actor for Chandu Champion and Bramayugam ,respectively, while veteran actor Anant Nag was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

As for Yami Gautam, she was last seen in Dhoom Dhaam, the romantic comedy co-starring Pratik Gandhi.
