A Bengaluru businessman has been arrested for beating his 22-year-old employee to death after finding him with his 19-year-old daughter at their residence, police said.

Kiran, a native of Kerala's Palakkad district, had been working at a manufacturing unit owned by the accused, Anandraj, for the past few years.

According to preliminary investigations, Anandraj had learnt about the alleged relationship between Kiran and his daughter only recently.

On Tuesday, Anandraj and his wife left home in the morning, telling their daughter, who was in Bengaluru for the holidays from a neighbouring city where she is pursuing her studies, that they would be away for the day.

However, the couple returned a few hours later and found Kiran with their daughter inside a room.

Before assaulting Kiran, Anandraj sent his daughter to a relative's house, according to the police.

Kiran sustained multiple injuries and lost consciousness following the assault. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Hospital authorities subsequently alerted the police.

Police suspect that the murder may have been premeditated. A probe is underway to ascertain whether anyone else was present at the house when the assault took place.

Meanwhile, Kiran's maternal cousin, Prasad, has also claimed that the murder had been planned.

He claimed that Anandraj had deliberately sent Kiran's brother to Uttar Pradesh earlier in the week on a delivery assignment to ensure that Kiran was alone and that no one would be around to intervene.
