Delhi riots: HC rejects pleas for FIRs against politicians for hate speech

The petitions had sought directions for the registration of FIRs against politicians over hate speeches linked to the 2020 north-east Delhi riots, along with a probe by a Special Investigation Team.

The Delhi High Court has dismissed all 15 petitions seeking registration of FIRs and an SIT probe into hate speeches by political leaders in connection with the 2020 Delhi riots.

The petitions had sought directions for the registration of FIRs against politicians over alleged hate speeches linked to the riots, along with a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

A bench comprising Justices Vivek Chaudhary and Manoj Jain has now dismissed all 15 pleas.
