At least three members of a family received severe injuries in Punjab's Ferozepur after Pakistan launched a drone attack targeting civilians in the area on Friday night, the Ministry said in a statement. One of the three was pronounced to be in a critical condition.

Lakhwinder Singh and his wife, and brother Monu Singh, were badly injured in the Pakistani drone attack and were rushed to a nearby private hospital, PTI reported. Lakhwinder was said to be critical.
The incident happened as Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling along India's bordering districts in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. Over 25 locations in these states were attacked by a swarm of drones, most of which were intercepted by India's air defence systems.
Tensions escalated between the two countries after Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday, following India's Operation Sindoor launched against Pakistani terrorist camps in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were gunned down by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
