Former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad has alleged that Rahul Gandhi had directed party leaders to attack his residences in Bihar, days after he called the leader of the opposition a 'darpok' (coward) and an insecure politician. In a series of sharp allegations, Ahmad, a three-time MLA and a two-term MP from Bihar, said he was being targeted and faced threats after publicly criticising Rahul's leadership.

"Rahul Gandhi has directed leaders to attack my house just because I said certain things about his leadership," Ahmad, who quit the Congress after the debacle in the Bihar elections last year, said.

Separately, Ahmad also shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message on X that he alleged was circulated by Congress party members. The message calls on local and district-level leaders to burn Ahmad's effigy in protest over his remarks on Rahul.
