Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are back in the spotlight following reports of a potential collaboration on a new project. The buzz around the film comes alongside ongoing speculation about their personal equation, which has been widely discussed on social media in recent months.
According to reports, a female-led film is currently in development, with Mrunal Thakur being considered for the central role. The project is said to offer a substantial part for the female lead, with discussions reportedly in the final stages.
Some reports also suggest that Dhanush may direct the film, which is expected to be a period drama set in the 1960s or 1970s. An official announcement is expected soon, although there has been no confirmation from the makers so far.
Rumours about Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur began circulating in August 2025 when the two were seen together at the premiere of Mrunal’s Son of Sardaar 2. Earlier, her presence at the wrap party of Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein had also drawn attention.
