Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 in India, the first Turbo series device for the company. The Turbo 5 targets those who want to get good performance without a flagship price tag, and the device also gets a pair of RGB lights at the back. From the specs to the price, here are all the details.

Xiaomi is bringing performance-focused devices under the Redmi banner once again. The company is not reviving the K series, instead, it has launched the new Turbo series in India, and the first device in this line-up is the Redmi Turbo 5.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is targeted at buyers who want strong performance without paying a flagship-level price tag. And adding to the gaming vibes is a pair of RGB lights, but more on that later.

As per the company, the Turbo 5 sits right below Xiaomi’s flagship devices. From the design to the chipset, and the price, here are all the details about the Redmi Turbo 5.

Redmi Turbo 5 design and display

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a flat reinforced glass back, where you get two circular rear camera cut-outs. These cutouts get a pair of RGB lights, which can light up for notifications or calls. These lights can also sync to music.

Coming to the sides, the Turbo 5 gets a flat aluminium frame with a thickness of 8.18mm. The device comes with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

On the front, the Turbo 5 packs a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Xiaomi says that the screen can show up to 68 billion colours. You also get Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus support.

When it comes to audio, the Turbo 5 gets stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

Xiaomi has positioned the Turbo 5 as a device for those who want decent performance. To back this claim, the Redmi Turbo 5 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, which is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

For better sustained performance, the device also gets a 5300 sq mm vapour cooling chamber. The company claims that you can play 20 plus games at 120fps.

Redmi Turbo 5 cameras, battery and other specs

For cameras, the Redmi Turbo 5 uses a dual rear setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor. This sensor supports optical image stabilisation (OIS) and can record up to 4K video at 60fps. Alongside it is an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. On the front, Xiaomi has used a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Turbo 5 uses a 7,540mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging. It can also reverse charge at 27W.

The Redmi Turbo 5 runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out-of-the-box. Xiaomi is promising 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches for the device. The Turbo 5 also comes with Xiaomi’s HyperConnect features that allow the phone to connect with Apple devices.

Redmi Turbo 5 launch and price in India

The Redmi Turbo 5 starts at Rs 37,999 for the base 8GB/128GB model. The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at Rs 40,999

The Turbo 5 goes on sale in India on June 19 at 12 pm, and you can save up to Rs 2,000 with bank offers. Xiaomi is promising 60 per cent assured buyback if you plan to sell the device after one year. You also get three months of Spotify Premium with the device.
