Vande Mataram a symbol of India's unity: PM on 150 years of national song

"Vande Mataram is a true symbol of India's unity as it has inspired generations. I congratulate my Indian brothers and sisters on this occasion. As we mark 150 years of Vande Mataram today, this will give us new inspiration and fill the people of the country with new energy," PM Modi said. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated a year-long commemoration of "Vande Mataram" to mark 150 years of the national song, by releasing a commemorative stamp and a coin. Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said that the celebration will give new inspiration to many citizens of the country.
