Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar made some bold predictions ahead of India's much anticipated clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in Women's T20 World Cup 2024. India will be aiming to get back to winning ways during the Group A clash against Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on October 6, Sunday. Manjrekar predicted that Richa Ghosh would come out as the top player for the Indian team and would take the Player of The Match award for her explosive batting and wicketkeeping. He also named Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and spinner Asha Sobhana as the other two players to watch out for.

"Three players to watch out for. No. 1 Richa Ghosh, number two would be Harmanpreet Kaur. She failed in the first match and this doesn't happen quite often. It almost feels impossible. The third player to watch out for would be Asha Sobhana. 2 Predictions would be that its been years since India beat Pakistan in an afternoon game. So, that will happen. 2nd is that Richa Ghosh would be the Player of the Match. 2 stumpings and a quickfire forty. By doing this she will be the Player of the Match," Manjrekar said in a video posted by Star Sports on X.

IND vs PAK: What to expect

India suffered a 58-run loss in their opening match against New Zealand which pushed them to a tight corner in their race to make it to the semi-final of Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, Fatima Sana-led Pakistan will be spirited as they take confidence from their opening match victory against Asia Cup 2024 champions Sri Lanka.

Manjrekar also advised the Indian team to not try big shots on a slow pitch like that of Dubai.

"One advice for India against Pakistan would be that we have witnessed that Dubai's pitch is still very slow and fresh. What they did with New Zealand, playing big shots down the pitch. Avoid this and play sensibly. Like Virat Kohli takes ones and twos and if you want to hit a six, don't hit it straight," he added.
