Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to launch the facelifted Glanza in India today, October 14, 2026. The updated premium hatchback is expected to receive revised exterior styling, additional comfort and safety features, and a new petrol engine aimed at improving fuel efficiency. Ahead of the launch, Toyota has released a teaser revealing some of the design changes planned for the updated model.

The facelift comes as the Glanza continues to compete in India's premium hatchback segment against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The updated model is expected to retain its practical and familiar package while introducing styling revisions and potential mechanical upgrades.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Exterior design

The teaser previews a revised front fascia, headlined by a larger grille with honeycomb detailing and chrome accents. Toyota's emblem has been repositioned on the body-coloured strip above the grille, while a broad chrome garnish runs across the front, visually linking the headlamp areas.

The front fog lamp housings have also been redesigned, giving the hatchback a refreshed appearance. The headlamps and LED daytime running lights are expected to retain their existing design, while changes at the rear are likely to be more subtle. Revised 16-inch alloy wheels could further distinguish the facelift from the outgoing model.

Overall, the updates appear focused on refreshing the Glanza's appearance rather than introducing a comprehensive redesign.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Expected features

The updated Glanza is expected to retain the existing dashboard layout, with potential additions to its comfort, convenience and safety equipment.

Expected upgrades include ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with integrated cooling provisions and an upgraded Clarion audio system. Toyota could also introduce an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) package, which would represent a significant addition to the hatchback's safety technology.

However, these features have not been officially confirmed. The final equipment list, including the availability of individual features across variants, is expected to be announced at the launch.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Engine and transmission

One of the key anticipated changes is the introduction of Maruti Suzuki's Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine in place of the existing K12N 1.2-litre, four-cylinder unit.

In the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Z12E engine produces 83bhp and 112Nm of torque. This is slightly lower than the current Glanza's claimed output of 90bhp and 113Nm. However, the newer engine is expected to prioritise fuel efficiency, potentially improving the hatchback's running costs.

A factory-fitted CNG option is also likely to continue. In the Baleno, the CNG powertrain produces 70bhp and 102Nm of torque. The updated Glanza is expected to retain a five-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol version could continue to offer an AMT option. The CNG version is likely to remain paired with a manual transmission, although the possibility of an AMT-equipped CNG variant remains unconfirmed.

Toyota is yet to confirm the final engine specifications, transmission combinations and fuel-efficiency figures for the facelifted Glanza.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Expected price

The current Toyota Glanza is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift could command a revised price depending on the extent of the styling, equipment and mechanical updates.

The final variant-wise pricing is expected to be announced at the launch. The Glanza will continue to share its underlying platform and much of its mechanical package with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which remains its closest rival in the segment.

Toyota Glanza facelift: Launch date and rivals

Toyota will reveal the updated Glanza's specifications, variant line-up and pricing today. The facelift is expected to bring a refreshed exterior, a potentially more fuel-efficient petrol engine and additional comfort and safety features.

Its primary rivals will remain the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. While the extent of the upgrades will become clearer at the launch, the updated Glanza is expected to build on the existing model's practicality and everyday usability while strengthening its appeal in India's premium hatchback segment.
