Skoda Auto India is set to launch the facelifted Slavia today, August 18, 2026. The updated midsize sedan will receive a series of styling and equipment upgrades, along with a significant mechanical change in the form of a new eight-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

The Slavia facelift has been spotted testing several times in recent months, while Skoda has also released teasers highlighting some of the changes. Unlike a full model change, the facelift follows an evolutionary approach, retaining the sedan's familiar silhouette and overall cabin layout while adding new features and design updates.

The facelifted Slavia will get a sharper version of the existing design. At the front, the broad grille will be retained but is expected to feature revised chrome detailing. The headlamps will also receive updated detailing, while the front bumper is likely to get a redesigned lower section and revised fog lamp housings.

The side profile will remain largely unchanged, although Skoda is expected to introduce a new five-spoke alloy wheel design. The chrome finish around the window line is also expected to continue.

At the rear, the sedan is likely to feature tweaked LED tail-lamps and a revised bumper. Skoda could also introduce illuminated SKODA lettering on the boot lid. However, it remains unclear whether the Slavia facelift will get connected tail-lamps similar to those introduced on the updated Kushaq.

New exterior colour options could also be introduced as part of the facelift.

More features inside the cabin

The dashboard layout of the Slavia facelift will remain largely familiar, but Skoda is expected to make several changes to the equipment, trim and upholstery. One of the biggest additions could be a 10.25-inch fully digital driver's display, borrowed from the updated Kushaq.

The sedan could also get revised seat upholstery and new interior colour combinations. Higher variants are expected to gain additional convenience features, including front parking sensors.

Another feature that could make its way to the Slavia is the rear-seat massage function introduced with the Kushaq facelift. Skoda, however, is yet to confirm whether this feature will be offered on the sedan.

Other existing features are expected to continue, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a single-pane sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats and an eight-speaker audio system.

The safety package is also expected to remain comprehensive, with six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold assist, electronic differential lock, multi-collision braking and tyre pressure monitoring among the key features.

Skoda Slavia facelift engine and gearbox

The biggest mechanical update will be the addition of a new automatic gearbox to the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine will continue to produce 116bhp and 178Nm, but the existing six-speed automatic is expected to be replaced by an eight-speed torque-converter unit.

The new transmission has already been introduced with the updated Kushaq and is expected to offer smoother low-speed responses and better refinement in stop-and-go traffic. A six-speed manual gearbox will continue to be available with the 1.0-litre TSI.

The larger 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine will continue unchanged, producing 150bhp and 250Nm. It will remain available with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Skoda Slavia facelift price and rivals

Skoda is expected to announce the variant-wise prices of the facelifted Slavia at today's launch. Given the styling updates, additional equipment and new automatic gearbox, a modest price increase over the outgoing model is likely.

The updated Slavia will continue to compete with the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City in India's midsize sedan segment.
