2 MLAs among 6 injured after Swift crosses divider, crashes into Innova in Delhi
A Swift crossed the divider and hit an Innova near Delhi's PWD office, injuring six people, including two MLAs. Police are probing how the car breached the railing, while all those injured remain stable.

Two MLAs, including sitting Kirari MLA Anil Jha, were injured along with four others after a Swift car crossed a divider and crashed into an Innova in central Delhi's IP Estate area on Sunday night, police said. All six sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, where they were reported to be stable.
The accident took place around 9.30 pm near the PWD office. According to police, the Swift was travelling from Laxmi Nagar towards ITO when it hit a divider, crossed the roadside railing and landed on the opposite side of the road, where it collided with an Innova coming from ITO towards Laxmi Nagar.
The Swift was being driven by 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey, who was travelling with his wife and two minor children. The Innova was carrying Jha, the sitting MLA from Kirari Assembly constituency, and Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil.
SWIFT CROSSES DIVIDER, CRASHES INTO INNOVA
A PCR call regarding the accident was received at the IP Estate police station around 9.30 pm. A police team reached the spot and found the two vehicles damaged.
Based on a preliminary local enquiry, police said the Swift first hit the divider before crossing the railing and colliding with the Innova travelling in the opposite direction. The exact reason why the Swift hit the divider is yet to be established.
All six occupants suffered minor injuries in the collision and were shifted to LNJP Hospital for treatment. Police said their condition was stable.
FIRE BRIGADE RESPONDS TO POSSIBLE CNG LEAK
The fire brigade was also called to the spot after information was received about a possible CNG leak. Fire personnel reached the site and attended to the situation.
The damaged vehicles were subsequently removed from the roadway by the authorities, allowing traffic movement to return to normal.
Police have begun an investigation to establish the exact circumstances leading to the crash. Investigators are examining how the Swift hit the divider, crossed the railing and ended up colliding with the Innova.
