Tamil director Suresh Sangaiah died in Chennai on Friday, November 15 at the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital after battling liver failure. The news of his death was confirmed by cinematographer Saran, who worked with him in the Tamil film Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu. The filmmaker is survived by his wife and two children.
Director Halitha Shameem mourned the loss of her dear friend and posted a heartfelt tribute on the social media platform X. She shared a photo of the director with a note that read, "Shocked and saddened to hear about @sureshsangaiah's passing. I've always held #OruKidayinKarunaiManu as a precious film and now with a deeper significance (sic)."
His other works include Sathiya Sodhanai (2023), and an untitled film with actor Senthil.
