The makers of Batwara 1947 have released the film’s second teaser on Saturday, a month after unveiling the first glimpse, and it continues to leave a lasting impact with its powerful visuals and emotional narrative.
Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the upcoming period drama takes viewers back to the horrors of the 1947 Partition, highlighting the fear, violence, and human struggles that defined one of the most turbulent chapters in history.
The crisp, one-minute teaser features a voiceover by Sunny Deol, where he says, "Darr rahe hai log, marr rahe hai log. Main jeete ji marna nahi chahta (People are scared, people are losing their lives. I don't want to feel dead while I am still alive.)"
His intense dialogue captures the emotional turmoil of people caught between fear and hatred, while also reflecting his character’s determination to stand strong during a time of chaos.
The teaser showcases Sunny Deol in a courageous avatar as violence erupts around him. With houses being broken into and set on fire, families are seen struggling to survive as the events leading to Partition unfold.
Preity Zinta’s terrified glimpses, Shabana Azmi’s powerful screen presence, and Ali Fazal’s intriguing appearance add further emotional depth to the story.

Going by the teaser and previously released character posters, Batwara 1947 appears to focus on ordinary people navigating extraordinary circumstances during Partition, portraying their struggles, resilience, and hope amid widespread unrest.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, the film marks his reunion with Sunny Deol nearly 30 years after their acclaimed collaborations Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak. The project is backed by Aamir Khan Productions and Aparna Purohit, with music composed by A.R. Rahman and lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar.
Batwara 1947 will release in theatres on August 14, 2026.
