Drone visuals showed the plumes of fire billowing from the Grand Kartal Hotel in Turkey's Bolu mountains. The massive fire erupted in the hotel that killed 66 people and forced panicked guests to leap from windows to escape.

The tragedy occurred at the Kartalkaya ski resort, a popular destination in northwestern Turkey, where 234 guests were staying at the time.

The fire broke out around 3.30 am on the restaurant floor of the 12-story hotel and quickly spread through the building. Witnesses described chaotic scenes as thick smoke filled the air, and the hotel's fire detection system reportedly failed to activate.

Emergency services are investigating the cause of the fire while rescue efforts and support for survivors continue.
