The Vishal Chaturvedi-directed spiritual drama added another Rs 9.50 crore nett (gross minus taxes) on its fifth Monday, taking its India gross to Rs 155.65 crore and India nett collection to Rs 131.63 crore, according to trade website, Sacnilk.

At this rate, Hanuman Ansh is all set for a long theatrical run. Due to its rising popularity, the film is gearing up for a grand release in the overseas market on September 11.

The latest milestone comes just a day after the film recorded its biggest single-day collection since release. On Day 31, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 22.75 crore nett, making its fifth weekend an unprecedented phase in its theatrical run. The film has now maintained remarkable momentum well into its fifth week, despite beginning its run with modest collections.

Day 32 sees 58 per cent drop after record Sunday

On Monday, Hanuman Ansh registered a 58.2 per cent drop from its previous day's collection. The film nevertheless managed to bring in Rs 9.50 crore nett across 7,343 shows, a strong figure for a film that has been in theatres for more than a month.

The Monday decline comes after the film's massive Sunday haul. Its recent trajectory has been particularly unusual, with collections accelerating rather than declining during the later stages of its theatrical run.

The film's fifth-week performance has already been described as historic, with reports noting that its fifth weekend outperformed the previous benchmark set by Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar.

Hanuman Ansh leaves Dhurandhar behind in fifth weekend

The film's fifth-weekend run has been nothing short of extraordinary. Hanuman Ansh not only registered its biggest weekend yet but also outperformed Dhurandhar on each of the three days.

On Day 29, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 10 crore nett, compared with Dhurandhar's Rs 8.75 crore. The gap widened further on Day 30, with Hanuman Ansh collecting Rs 16.50 crore nett against Dhurandhar's Rs 11.75 crore.

The biggest difference came on Day 31. While Hanuman Ansh exploded to Rs 22.75 crore nett, Dhurandhar had collected Rs 12.75 crore on its corresponding day. Even Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which earned Rs 3.25 crore on Day 29, was nowhere close to the spiritual drama's fifth-weekend numbers.

Across Days 29 to 31, Hanuman Ansh accumulated Rs 49.25 crore nett, compared with Rs 33.25 crore for Dhurandhar. Sacnilk has described it as a record-breaking fifth weekend, while reports have highlighted its unprecedented staying power.

From slow start to Rs 150 crore gross

The success of Hanuman Ansh becomes even more remarkable considering how quietly it began its theatrical journey a month ago. The film was made on a reported budget of around Rs 2 crore and initially struggled to attract audiences. However, positive word of mouth and growing interest in its spiritual subject helped the film expand its audience over subsequent weeks.

Rather than relying on a massive opening, the film has built its box-office numbers through sustained theatrical momentum. Its fourth and fifth weeks have been particularly strong, turning what initially appeared to be a small-scale release into one of the biggest surprise successes of the year.

Hanuman Ansh overseas release ahead

The film's domestic run is not over yet, and its next major milestone could come from international markets. Hanuman Ansh is scheduled for an overseas release on September 11, meaning its Rs 150-crore-plus India gross has been achieved before it even begins its international theatrical journey.
