Tata.ev is set to launch the updated Tata Tiago EV in India today, bringing a comprehensive refresh to its affordable electric hatchback. The facelifted Tiago EV will receive sharper exterior styling, upgraded cabin technology, enhanced safety equipment and possible improvements to battery efficiency and driving range.

The updated electric hatchback will arrive alongside the facelifted ICE-powered Tiago and is likely to carry a small premium over the outgoing model, which is currently priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.14 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tiago EV facelift: Exterior design

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV is expected to adopt a more modern and aggressive design language. At the front, the hatchback will likely feature sleeker LED headlamps integrated with LED daytime running lamps, while retaining the EV-specific closed-off grille finished in body colour.

Tata is also expected to revise the front bumper with vertically positioned black trim inserts, giving the hatchback a sportier appearance. The side profile could receive newly designed aerodynamic alloy wheels aimed at improving efficiency.

At the rear, the facelifted Tiago EV is likely to feature connected-style tail-lamps with multiple vertical LED elements linked by a thick gloss-black strip. A roof-mounted spoiler is also expected to be part of the update, adding a slightly more premium and dynamic look.

Tata Tiago EV facelift: Interior design

Inside, Tata has redesigned the dashboard with a cleaner and more modern layout finished in a dual-tone black-and-grey theme. The infotainment and driver display screens are likely to be repositioned higher on the dashboard for improved visibility and usability.

The updated cabin could also receive gloss-black inserts and a reworked centre console to enhance the premium feel. Feature additions expected on the facelift include:

  • Larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 360-degree camera
  • Rear AC vents
  • Dual wireless smartphone chargers
  • Six-speaker audio system
  • Tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
  • Cooled glovebox
  • Electrically adjustable ORVMs

Safety equipment is also expected to see a major upgrade, with six airbags likely to be offered as standard across the range.

Tata Tiago EV facelift: Battery, range and powertrain expectations

While Tata has not officially confirmed the mechanical specifications yet, the outgoing Tata Tiago EV is available with two battery pack options — a 19.2kWh unit paired with a 61bhp electric motor and a larger 24kWh battery producing 75bhp.

The current model delivers claimed MIDC ranges of 223km and 293km, respectively.

For the facelift, Tata could introduce improved battery technology with higher energy density, similar to updates seen on the Tata Punch EV. The updated hatchback may also adopt Tata’s newer 6-in-1 integrated electric powertrain, which is designed to improve efficiency, packaging and overall range.

Although official range figures are yet to be revealed, the facelifted Tiago EV is expected to offer slightly better real-world efficiency and energy management compared to the outgoing version.

Tata Tiago EV facelift: Expected price and rivals

The refreshed Tata Tiago EV is expected to command a marginal premium over the current model. Tata may also continue or further expand its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme to reduce upfront ownership costs for buyers.

Once launched, the Tiago EV facelift will continue to rival models such as the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3 in the entry-level electric vehicle segment.
