Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut recently addressed rumours about her relationship with fellow politician Chirag Paswan. In a candid interview, she clarified that there is no romantic connection between them.
The speculation started in 2024 when they were spotted sharing a light moment in Delhi outside the Parliament. However, Kangana has firmly dismissed such claims, emphasising that they are merely friends.
Clarification on their equation
In an interview with ANI, Kangana responded to the rumours by saying Chirag is her friend. Hence, there's no romance happening. She clarified that he did a film with her 10 years ago.
"Agar romance hota toh aaj humare bachche hotey (If it was romance, then today we would have had children),” the 39-year-old actor jokingly said.
She further explained that if she had wanted a romantic relationship, it would have already happened, but it hasn’t. The actor emphasised that it’s simply a friendly connection, the kind you feel with someone from the same industry. "I feel very good around him," Kangana added.
Kangana is affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, while Chirag serves as the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries and is a Member of Parliament from Hajipur, Bihar. The duo starred in the 2011 romantic drama Miley Na Miley Hum, which marked Chirag's debut in films.
What’s next on the acting front
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in the movie Emergency, a biopic on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office.
She is currently working on Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. Announced in 2024, the film is a tribute to unsung real-life heroes. Additionally, Kangana is reportedly set to reprise her role in the sequel to Queen, for which she won a National Award.
