India vice-captain and ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has revealed the team's success mantra ahead of the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India head into the series after having won during the last 2 tours in emphatic fashion, with Bumrah playing a key role. However, this time, the noise around the team is at an all-time high.
India lost the home series 0-3 to New Zealand as Bumrah had a series to forget as well. However, the pacer will be heading to Australia as the deputy to Rohit Sharma and leading the Indian pace attack. In an interview with 7Cricket, the pacer said that the key to success will be self-belief and it will matter the most in any condition.

Bumrah said that the team will be banking on their self-belief and this has been the main conversation inside the dressing room heading into the series. The pacer feels that when the focus is on yourself, then you are in a great spot and rest would take care of itself.
"Self-belief matters the most in any conditions. That is what we are banking on and that is the conversation we are having in our team. When you focus on yourself and focus on your preparation, then that puts you in a great position and everything else will take care of itself," said Bumrah.
Bumrah will lead India in Perth Test
Bumrah's role down under will be amplified this time around as he will be leading the Indian team during the Perth Test, which will begin on November 22 to start the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit has been granted paternity leave as he and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed their second child on November 15.
Bumrah has led the Indian team before during the match against England in 2022 and also in white-ball cricket as well. The pacer has taken 32 wickets in 7 matches for India down under and will be expected to lead the attack once again.
