In an exclusive interview with India Today Global, Iran’s Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi said that Iran is ‘Iran is ready for massacre’ and that they ‘targeted military bases, and military installations of Israel which affected the military capability of this illegal and illegitimate regime to invade or strike Gaza’

This comes after the recent escalation of tensions between Iran and Israel, wherein Iran bombarded Israel’s Mossad HQ and other Israeli military installations. The ambassador says that ‘Israel failed to intercept Iranian missiles’ terming Israel's claim that it is unaffected by Irani attacks bogus.

Coming to Netanyahu, Iraj Elahi labeled him a ‘hijacker’. He pointed out that Israel wants to expand its influence, and there is nobody in this world who could stop them. ‘Netanyahu has hijacked the security of the region’

When asked if Iran is retaliating for the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, Iraj Elahi stated that they are retaliating for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh who was killed in Tehran.

Can India Stop Israel?

France and the U.S. have been calling for a ceasefire in West Asia. These pleas have been falling on deaf ears with Netanyahu refusing even to consider a ceasefire. India might be crucial in ceasefire talks owing to its close relationship with Israel with PM Modi discussing the recent escalations with Netanyahu on a phone call.

The Iranian Ambassador adds ‘India is an important and influential country, not only at the regional level but also at the international level. It has good relations with Israel. It can convince Israel to stop genocide according to Hinduism. Genocide is not accepted, you know when you respect even a plant when you respect an animal. So you cannot be silent. You cannot be indifferent regarding the genocide, the ongoing genocide in Gaza so India can use its influence to stop this genocide.’
