After tying the knot at their Bandra home in an intimate ceremony on March 11, attended only by immediate family and a handful of close friends, actor Kritika Kamra and cricket commentator Gaurav Kapur hosted a star-studded wedding reception last night. Much like their wedding, the celebration reflected a sense of understated elegance and minimalism.
Kamra has been redefining the idea of the modern bride in the most refreshing ways. For the intimate ceremony, she chose a sindoor-red Chanderi saree from her label Cinnabar, and for the reception, she turned to old Hollywood glamour, stepping out in an archival Galliano-era Dior gown.
Her reception look was elegant, minimal, and refined, with a strong emphasis on fluid draping and striking jewellery. She wore a sleek dove-grey draped gown that hugged her frame beautifully. A cowl-style neckline created a soft drape along the collarbone, while subtle gathers at the waist enhanced the shape of the gown.
In an exclusive video shared by Diet Sabya, Kamra said that it took her two months to find this archival dress.
Coming to her jewellery, Kamra made sure it stood out. She wore a massive diamond necklace paired with stud earrings, which added a striking pop of pink against the muted tone of her outfit. She also accessorised with a large cocktail ring that complemented the look without overpowering it.
With subtle makeup and perfectly styled hair, the bride's overall look struck a beautiful balance between understated elegance and statement glamour.
Between 1996 and 2011, John Galliano brought a bold new vision to Dior. His work was known for dramatic fashion shows and couture designs inspired by different periods in history. He also introduced the famous Dior Saddle bag, which quickly became a signature piece for the brand. His collections often included flowing bias-cut gowns, bright patterns, and runway presentations that told a strong visual story.
Now, coming to the groom, Kapur's look was sharp, classic, and effortlessly sophisticated. He opted for a charcoal grey double-breasted suit that exuded timeless polish. He paired the suit with a crisp white shirt and a black tie. A white pocket square neatly tucked into the blazer pocket provided a subtle contrast against the darker tones of the suit.
Together, the bride and groom's outfits perfectly reflected the tone of their celebration, a sense of understated elegance that was also mirrored in their guests’ looks. The reception was attended by Vidya Balan, Malaika Arora, Yuvraj Singh, Hazel Keech, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, and several other well-known names.
