Woman supervisor found murdered in Jharkhand, man caught inside rented home

A woman supervisor with the Women and Child Development Project Office was found murdered in her rented house in Chakradharpur, and a Mirzapur man was detained. Police are probing the suspect's link with Anita Bind as shocked residents await clarity on the motive.

A woman working as a supervisor with the Women and Child Development Project Office in Jharkhand's Sonua was murdered inside her rented house in West Singhbhum district on Thursday. A man from Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur has been detained in connection with the case.

The deceased has been identified as Anita Bind, a native of Mirzapur. She had joined her government job in May this year and had moved into a rented house near the Sheetla Temple area of Chakkardharpur around 15 days ago.

MAN FOUND INSIDE WOMAN'S ROOM

According to the landlord, Sanjay Kumar Saw, he noticed a man entering Anita's room under suspicious circumstances. He stopped the man outside the room and questioned him. The man allegedly identified himself as Anita's acquaintance and lover and said he had come to meet her.

When the landlord entered the room, Anita was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood. She had suffered injuries allegedly caused by a sharp weapon.

The landlord then detained the suspect and handed him over to the police. The man was later identified as Anil Kumar Bind, also a resident of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.

POLICE PROBE POSSIBLE LOVE ANGLE

Police are initially examining a possible relationship between the victim and the suspect as a line of investigation. However, the exact motive for the murder has not yet been established.

Police are investigating how the suspect entered the rented house, what relationship he shared with Anita and what led to the alleged attack.

Chakradharpur SDPO Dr Syed Mustafa Hashmi visited the crime scene and took stock of the investigation. Police have taken custody of the body for further legal proceedings.

Sonua BDO Somnath Oraon said he was shocked by the incident. He said Anita had come from Uttar Pradesh and joined her post in May this year.

The murder has left residents of the Sheetla Temple area shocked, with police continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
