Video: With one hand on Bhagavad Gita, Kash Patel takes oath as FBI chief

by · India Today

Indian-American Kash Patel took oath as the ninth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the chief US investigation agency, on Saturday, with his hand on the sacred Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita. The oath of office was administered by US Attorney General Pam Bondi in the Indian Treaty Room at the White House.

The swearing-in took place after the Senate confirmed Patel’s nomination on Thursday with a 51-49 vote. Two Republican senators, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, joined Democrats in opposing his appointment. US President Donald Trump said that Kash Patel will be the "best ever in that position".
