Delhi govt adopts two-day work from home, Metro use by ministers to save fuel
by India Today Video Desk · India TodayThe Delhi government has announced a series of measures after PM Modi's austerity appeal to conserve petrol and diesel, including the adoption of a two-day work from home policy for government offices. The administration is also changing office timings and introducing a twenty percent fuel cut for government officials. To further reduce fuel consumption, the national capital will observe a 'Metro Day', functioning as a public transport day with an appeal for a no-car day. The initiative follows the Prime Minister's example of reducing his cavalcade to just two vehicles. The Delhi Chief Minister stated that the work from home policy will be implemented for two days every week at the government level. Additionally, an advisory will be issued to private sector companies and institutions to adopt a similar two-day work from home schedule. The labour department will monitor the implementation of these measures. Government officers and ministers will also personally request large companies to allow their employees to work from home for two days a week.
