If there is one thing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has decided this Cannes season, it is that she will make the wait worth it for her fans. And with that, Aishwarya’s second look from the festival is here — a blush pink couture gown by Sophie Couture.
The actor attended Lights on Women’s Worth, L'Oreal Paris’ annual initiative celebrating emerging female filmmakers, accompanied by daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who complemented her in a ruby-red gown with a matching cape.
The blush pink gown featured a strapless corseted bodice with Fortuny pleating and intricate Swarovski-crystal floral embellishments in rose gold, copper and deep mauve tones. The floral detailing cascaded from the bodice down towards the hips, adding texture and dimension to the otherwise fluid silhouette.
The heavily draped satin-silk crepe ensemble was structured with asymmetric ruching around the waist and hips, creating a sculpted fit before flowing into a sweeping floor-length skirt. A sheer chiffon cape and extended train added movement and drama to the look without overwhelming it.
For Aishwarya, who has worn dramatic gowns at Cannes before, this felt like a refreshing shift. Instead of relying on volume, she embraced a more body-hugging silhouette, giving her red-carpet style a sharper, more sculpted edge this year.
For jewellery, Aishwarya skipped a necklace entirely, avoiding clutter around the neckline, especially with the cape already adding visual drama. Instead, she opted for statement rings on both hands and delicate drop earrings peeking through her hair.
Her hair was similar to her first Cannes look this year — voluminous Hollywood waves with a deep side part, softly highlighting the auburn tones in her hair. Winged eyeliner, a matte-finish base and a muted rose-pink lip tied the beauty look seamlessly to the gown’s pastel palette.
She unveiled her first Cannes look in a custom Amit Aggarwal couture creation — a deep sapphire-blue gown that hugged the body before flaring into a structured mermaid silhouette. The ensemble involved over 1,500 hours of handwork.
Speaking about the collaboration, Amit Aggarwal said, “Aishwarya has always approached Cannes with a strong sense of individuality and evolution. With Luminara, Mohit Rai and I wanted to create something that felt less like a garment and more like an energy field around her.”
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is attending the Cannes Film Festival with her daughter Aaradhya, and this outing marks her 24th year at the prestigious film festival.
