The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 will be hosted across 4 cities, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed on Sunday, January 12. The tournament is set have Mumbai, Vadodara, Lucknow and Bengaluru as the venues this year. WPL 2025 is expected to start from the first week of February.

Earlier, the BCCI had short-listed Lucknow and Vadodara as the potential venues for WPL 2025. However, during the Governing Council meeting which took place on Sunday, it was decided that the tournament should take place across multiple venues.

Mr. Shukla, while speaking to Sportstar, would confirm the news and said the Mumbai leg would be played at the Brabourne stadium.

“It will be played across four venues. The Mumbai leg will be played at Brabourne Stadium,” said Shukla.

The strong fanbase in Mumbai and Bengaluru proved to be a factor in both the venues being added to the list of venues. The stadiums were packed the last time when both cities hosted the WPL. The league will follow a caravan model for this year, with the tournament kickstarting in Mumbai.

The competition would then shift to Lucknow before heading to Bengaluru. The final of the tournament will be held in the newly-built Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The stadium is just 20 kms from the city and recently hosted the ODI series between the Indian women's team and West Indies. The venue is currently hosting the knockout phase of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The 2023 edition of the WPL was held completely in Mumbai while last year it was held across Bengaluru and Delhi.
