Former One Direction star Liam Payne reportedly attempted to escape his hotel room before falling to his death, with hotel staff aware of his intent to use the balcony, according to a recent report.

The incident occurred at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where Payne, known for his dislike of staying in hotel rooms, refused to go to his room, after being heavily intoxicated.

Disturbing security footage showed hotel staff dragging the 31-year-old through the lobby as he resisted returning to his room.

Shortly after escorting him back, a staff member called emergency services, expressing concerns for Payne's safety.

“I don’t know whether his life may be in danger. He is in a room with a balcony, and, well, we’re a little afraid,” the employee reportedly told 911, as per transcripts obtained by TMZ.

Despite these fears, the hotel staff ultimately left Payne alone in the room. Moments later, he fell to his death.

Earlier, Argentinan prosecutors ruled out suicide after a thorough investigation into the death of Payne, reported Vanity Fair.

The officials claimed that the artiste was most likely unconscious when he fell from his third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires. Since his death, three people have been arrested.
