Bobby Deol’s Bandar has drawn praise from critics and audiences for its intense storytelling and performances, but that response has yet to reflect in its box office numbers. About Bandar

Bandar, a dark and character-driven film, was not expected to match the numbers of mainstream commercial entertainers. It has, however, benefited from strong word of mouth, with viewers and critics particularly praising Bobby Deol’s performance.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film follows Samar, a struggling singer-actor whose life takes a dramatic turn after a woman named Gayatri, played by Sapna Pabbi, files a rape complaint against him. As the case turns into a legal and media storm, Samar finds himself battling a system he believes is stacked against him.

Bandar released in theatres on June 5, 2026.
