Have to let you go: Brother Arjun's note to bride Anshula tugs at the heartstrings

Actor Arjun Kapoor shared an emotional Instagram post after Anshula Kapoor married Rohan Thakkar. The note remembered their mother Mona Shourie Kapoor and captured the family's sentiment at the wedding.

Arjun Kapoor wrote an emotional note for his sister Anshula Kapoor after she got married to her longtime partner, Rohan Thakkar. As the Kapoor family celebrated the wedding festivities, Arjun shared a post on social media and reflected on their bond while remembering their late mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor.

Sharing a series of pictures from the celebrations on Instagram, the 41-year-old actor expressed how proud and emotional he felt watching Anshula begin a new chapter in her life.

“To my Ansh, you will always be mine, but now I have to let you goToday you start your new journey with Rohan and my heart, mind and soul are so so happy seeing you smile. I have seen you grow up and become this wonderful woman who represents our Mom every step of the way, don’t you ever worry cause she is watching over you and blessing you all the timeI’m always here, always got your back and always making sure the smile never leaves. Love you, Your Arjun Bhaiya (sic).”

Arjun and Anshula’s mother, Mona died in 2012 after battling cancer.

Among the pictures Arjun shared, several captured the siblings sharing playful moments in their wedding outfits. One photo, however, stood out as the most emotional. It showed Anshula Kapoor and Rohan Thakkar seated at the wedding altar, with a framed photograph of Mona placed beside them and adorned with a flower garland.

For the occasion, Anshula opted for an embroidered peach and coral lehenga. She paired it with a shimmering golden-beige dupatta and layered polki jewelry. Rohan complemented her perfectly in a textured champagne-gold sherwani. He topped off his look with a classic silk turban featuring a jeweled emerald brooch.

The reception will be held today, July 7, which will be attended by industry friends and colleagues as well.

Anshula and Rohan got engaged in July 2025. At the time, Anshula had shared pictures from the proposal and wrote about how their relationship began. “We started talking on a Tuesday at 1.15 am and ended up talking for hours. Three years later, in my favourite city, in front of the castle in Central Park, he proposed!” she wrote then.

Anshula, daughter of Boney Kapoor and his first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor, was last seen on The Traitors, which streamed on Prime Video.
