The e-commerce company is following a pattern where it reveals big deals on high-end smartphones every day. After the reveal of Motorola and realme, Flipkart teased that it will offer massive discount on the Google Pixel 8. According to the teaser, the Google Pixel 8 will be available at an effective price of Rs 31,999 during the sale. The smartphone was originally launched in India with a starting price of Rs 75,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. However, the question persist, after the launch of Google Pixel 9, should you buy Pixel 8? Let's find out.

Flipkart Big Billion Days sale: Google Pixel 8 at a hefty discount

Before we get into the specs and features of the Google Pixel 8, let's take a look at the discount offer. Google Pixel 8 was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 75,999. And after the release of the Google Pixel 9 series, the smartphone witnessed a price drop to Rs 71,999. But now, with the Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart will sell the device at an effective price of Rs 31,999. This means that during the sale, you can get this phone for Rs 40,000 less. The users can opt for EMI option by paying Rs 5,334 per month. While this deal is way too attractive, it remains to be seen how many conditions this deal will include.

Google Pixel 8: Should you buy?

Of course, if you compare its successor, Google Pixel 9, you will find the Pixel 8 a little dated. But at this price, it is undoubtedly a great steal. The Google Pixel 8 packs a design similar to its predecessors. However, there are subtle changes. The edges of the Google Pixel 8 are curvier and the phone is a bit smaller when compared to the Pixel 7. The phone has a glass and aluminium built and has a 6.2-inch Actua display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone offers 2,000 nits of peak brightness and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Google Pixel 8 is known for its clean software experience, thanks to its stock Android interface and regular updates. Powered by Google’s custom-built Tensor G3 chip, it delivers acceptable performance for day-to-day tasks and AI-driven features. The phone sports a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel Octa-PD main camera, 8x Super-Res digital zoom and a 12-megapixel sensor with autofocus and Macro abilities. In the front, there is a 10.5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Talking about battery, the Pixel 8 packs a 4,575 mAh battery supporting 27W fast wired charging. Google has also added support for 18W wireless charging, without a charger included in the retail package.

On paper, the device looks appealing, but the device struggled in a few areas. For instance, the Google Pixel 8 witnessed heating issues and a mediocre processor. But overall, we still think that this deal is one of the best so far, provided that the conditions for this price are also agreeable. Additionally, the device also has 7 years of software support, including OS upgrades, security updates and regular Feature Drops.
