UPPSC aspirants continued their protest for a third consecutive day on Wednesday, staging a candlelight march outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) building.

The candidates are demanding that the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) exams be held in a single shift. Students believe this will make the process fairer and more manageable.

Earlier on Wednesday, students assembled outside Gate No. 2 of the UPPSC office in Prayagraj, chanting slogans to voice their demands. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police has filed an FIR against 12 individuals in connection with vandalism during a protest demanding that Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) exams be conducted in a single shift.

According to officials, a group of miscreants broke barriers and damaged coaching centre signboards on Tuesday night, prompting the police to register the FIR.

"An FIR has been filed against 12 individuals. Some people have also been taken into police custody," Prayagraj Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Bharti was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
UPPSC officials visited the protest site to clarify existing policies and invite suggestions, encouraging protesters to propose alternative solutions.

Sources indicate that after unsuccessful discussions with authorities the previous night, students remain resolute in their demands. They are rallying more supporters, anticipating a larger turnout on Wednesday. Equipped with biscuits and other supplies, they have pledged to continue their peaceful protest until their concerns are acknowledged.
