Actor Saif Ali Khan was rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital during the early hours on Thursday after he suffered multiple stab wounds following a burglary attempt at his place. As mentioned by the doctors in an official statement made on Friday, a "7-year-old" child, Saif's son Taimur Ali Khan, accompanied him to the hospital. Earlier, various reports suggested that it was Ibrahim Ali Khan who rushed the actor to the hospital.
The doctors told the media during the briefing that Saif walked today, and he is on his way to recovery. While addressing the media, Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital said, "I was the first one to meet Saif Ali Khan when he came to the hospital. He was drenched in blood, but he walked in like a lion with his small child, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan is a real hero. He is doing well. He has been shifted from the ICU to a normal room."
The doctors further informed the media that they have restricted visitors' entry into Saif's room, because they don't want him to get any infection.
Saif was stabbed six times by the intruder with a knife. He reached the hospital with the knife still inside his body. A visual of the knife that the doctors recovered during the surgery also surfaced online on Friday.
The police, meanwhile, detained a suspect in connection with the attack. However, the search for the attacker continues with over 35 hours having passed since the incident at the Satguru Sharan building in the Bandra area of Mumbai.
Mumbai police have formed 35 teams to track down and nab the intruder, who also injured two staffers of the actor.
