JSW MG Motor India has extended its recently-launched Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to the Comet EV and the ZS EV with the former now priced at Rs 4.99 lakh + battery rental at Rs 2.5 per km and the latter available for Rs 13.99 lakh + battery rental at Rs 4.5 per km.

The BaaS concept was introduced with the MG Windsor EV. The unique program allows customers to buy an electric vehicle (EV) without paying the price of its battery and then paying a per kilometre fee for battery usage.

Additionally, customers can get an assured 60% buyback value for the MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV after three years of ownership.

"With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever. Given the strong response to Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending its benefits to our popular EV models, Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further boost EV adoption in the country," Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India.

The introduction of the BaaS program is supported by a robust network of finance partners, including Bajaj Finserv, Hero Fincorp, Vidyut, and Ecofy Autovert.

The MG Comet EV has a claimed range of 230km on a single charge, while the MG ZS EV has a claimed range of 461km on a single charge.
