Anthony Ricco, one of the lawyers representing Sean 'Diddy' Combs in his federal case, has filed a motion to withdraw as his counsel. According to Variety, the motion was submitted on Friday (February 21) morning.
In his filing, Ricco did not specify the exact reasons for his decision but stated, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”
He further noted that there are “sufficient reasons” protected under attorney-client privilege that prevent him from elaborating on his withdrawal request.
Ricco, who joined Combs’ legal team in September 2024, is one of several lawyers handling the case. Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos will continue to represent Combs.
Combs remains incarcerated in Brooklyn as he awaits trial, scheduled for May. He was charged in September 2024 with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs' representatives have not responded to this development yet.
