Karuppu box office Day 7: Suriya film smashes Rs 200 crore globally in 1st week

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan's Karuppu has grossed Rs 207 crore worldwide in seven days. The film stayed steady on its first Thursday, with the Tamil version leading the run.

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Karuppu is closing in on the Rs 200 crore-mark worldwide after completing a steady first week in theatres. The fantasy action film recorded a slight drop in collections on its first Thursday, but continued to hold at the box office.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Karuppu earned Rs 8.30 crore nett in India on Day 7 from 5,140 shows across the country. The figure was 22.4 per cent lower than Day 6, when the film collected Rs 10.70 crore nett, taking its total India nett collection to Rs 114.05 crore.

The film's India gross collection stood at Rs 132.05 crore after seven days. In overseas markets, it added Rs 3 crore gross on Day 7, taking its total overseas gross collection to Rs 57 crore.

Overall, Karuppu has grossed Rs 207 crores at the Worldwide Box Office in it's first week.

The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor to the film's performance. On Day 7, the Tamil version alone earned Rs 7 crore nett with 35 per cent occupancy across 3,599 shows.

Directed by RJ Balaji and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, Karuppu also stars Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Sshivada, Yogi Babu and Swasika, among others.
