20 killed in Delhi restaurant fire, woman seen jumping off building

At least 20 people died after a fire broke out at a restaurant in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar area on Wednesday. Information about the blaze was received by the fire department at around 9 am, officials said. A woman was seen jumping off an upper floor of a building to escape the blaze and the smoke.
At least ten firefighting vehicles were rushed to the spot to control the fire. According to a Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officer cited by news agency PTI, two water tenders, two water bowsers, a quick response vehicle and other firefighting units were sent as an initial response to control the fire, which broke out at the Lemon Green Restaurant.
It was initially reported that three people had been rescued from the building's basement by firefighters and rushed to a hospital for treatment. Their condition was not known at the time.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
