Tata Motors is set to launch the updated 2026 Tata Tiago today, bringing a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh to its popular entry-level hatchback. The facelifted Tiago will receive sharper styling, feature-rich interiors and enhanced safety equipment, while continuing with the familiar petrol and CNG powertrain options.

The updated hatchback is likely to carry a slight price premium over the outgoing model, with introductory prices expected to start at around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). The current Tiago range is priced between Rs 4.60 lakh and Rs 7.92 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tiago facelift: Exterior design

The 2026 Tiago adopts a noticeably more modern design language while retaining its familiar silhouette. At the front, the hatchback gets sleeker LED headlamps along with integrated LED daytime running lights, giving it a more premium and aggressive appearance.

The grille and bumper have also been redesigned with a blacked-out treatment for added contrast. Tata has further updated the lower bumper section with pixel-style LED fog lamps and integrated front camera modules. Along the sides, the facelift introduces newly designed alloy wheels, black wheel-arch cladding and ORVM-mounted cameras.

At the rear, the Tiago now features connected LED tail-lamps that help create a wider visual stance. The rear bumper has also been revised with chunkier black inserts and a repositioned reverse lamp setup.

Tata Tiago facelift: Interior design

Inside, the Tiago’s cabin receives a revised dashboard layout with a cleaner and more upright design. The dual-tone black-and-light-grey interior theme continues, although the dashboard now looks more contemporary.

A new free-standing digital driver’s display is among the key updates, while the two-spoke steering wheel now gets an illuminated Tata logo. The infotainment system appears largely unchanged, but the dashboard arrangement has been reorganised for a neater look. Tata has also repositioned the ‘Tiago’ branding lower on the dashboard near the climate controls.

Feature additions are expected to be a major highlight of the facelift. Tata has confirmed a 360-degree camera system and dual wireless smartphone chargers. The CNG-AMT variants will also get paddle shifters, making the Tiago the first factory-fitted CNG automatic hatchback in its segment to offer this feature.

The updated model is also expected to bring back the 6-speaker audio system that was removed in the MY25 update. Other features likely to continue include automatic climate control, rear AC vents and a cooled glovebox.

Tata Tiago facelift: Safety upgrades expected

Safety is set to receive a significant boost in the facelifted Tiago. The hatchback is expected to offer six airbags as standard across the range, improving occupant protection considerably over the outgoing version.

Additional safety features are likely to include a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and the newly added 360-degree camera setup.

Tata Tiago facelift: No mechanical changes expected

Mechanically, the 2026 Tiago is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86bhp. The CNG version is also likely to remain unchanged, delivering 75.5bhp.

Both petrol and CNG variants are expected to be offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

Tata Tiago facelift: Rivals

Once launched, the updated Tiago will continue to rival hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Maruti Suzuki Celerio in the affordable hatchback segment.
