The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is now available at a lower price in India, giving buyers a chance to pick up the company's flagship smartphone without paying the full launch price. The device, which debuted at Rs 1,39,999, is currently listed on Amazon for Rs 1,30,999, bringing an instant discount of Rs 9,000. The savings do not end there. Samsung is also offering additional bank offers that can bring the effective price down even further. Should you buy Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra or wait for Galaxy S27 Ultra?
The answer depends largely on how urgently you need a new phone.
If your current smartphone is ageing and you want a top-end device right now, the Galaxy S26 Ultra (review) remains an easy recommendation. It already offers flagship-level performance, a versatile camera setup, premium build quality, S Pen support, and years of software updates.
However, buyers who can comfortably wait until early 2027 may find the Galaxy S27 Ultra more exciting. Recent leaks suggest Samsung could finally introduce a battery larger than 5,000mAh in its Ultra lineup after keeping the same capacity for seven generations. Reports indicate a battery exceeding 6,000mAh could be on the cards, potentially using silicon-carbon technology.
The upcoming flagship is also tipped to feature a newer OLED display, LPDDR6 RAM, a next-generation Snapdragon chipset built on a 2nm process, Qi2 wireless charging support, and an upgraded camera system with a new main sensor. Some reports even claim Samsung is exploring advanced cooling solutions, including liquid cooling technology, to improve thermal performance.
That said, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is still expected to launch around January or February 2027, which means buyers would need to wait several months before it becomes official. One also needs to keep in mind that the new phone would either cost same as the official launch price of the S26 Ultra or more than that, meaning waiting for the next-gen also means that you wil have to shell out more money.
For most users, the Galaxy S26 Ultra at an effective price of Rs 1,24,999 is a solid deal today. But if battery life is your biggest priority and you are willing to wait, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could bring one of the biggest upgrades Samsung has offered in years. Also, those who can wait for a few more months should buy the Samsung S26 Ultra phone during the Diwali sales because this is when most online platforms offer the maximum discount in a year.
