Mahindra Auto sales rise 26% in July 2026; SUV dispatches cross 60,000 units

Mahindra & Mahindra began FY27's fourth month on a strong note, reporting a 26 per cent year-on-year rise in total vehicle sales to 1,03,860 units, led by robust SUV demand in July.

Mahindra and Mahindra reported a strong performance in July 2026, posting a 26 per cent year-on-year increase in total vehicle sales. The homegrown automaker sold 1,03,860 vehicles during the month, including exports, while domestic SUV sales crossed the 60,000-unit mark for the first time this fiscal.

The company's utility vehicle (UV) business continued to be the key growth driver. Mahindra sold 60,048 SUVs in the domestic market, registering a 20 per cent increase over July last year. Including exports, total SUV sales stood at 60,887 units.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales also witnessed healthy growth, rising 23 per cent year-on-year to 25,204 units. Meanwhile, total exports increased by 47 per cent to 4,070 units during the month, highlighting improving demand in overseas markets.

Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the company achieved SUV sales of 60,048 units in July, reflecting 20 per cent growth, while total vehicle sales reached 1,03,860 units, up 26 per cent year-on-year, driven by strong demand across its portfolio.

Within the commercial vehicle portfolio, Mahindra's light commercial vehicles weighing under two tonnes grew 40 per cent to 3,870 units, while the 2-3.5 tonne LCV segment recorded sales of 21,334 units, up 21 per cent. The company's three-wheeler business, including electric three-wheelers, also delivered strong momentum with sales of 14,538 units, a 53 per cent increase over the same month last year.

For the financial year-to-date, Mahindra has sold 2,34,793 passenger vehicles in the domestic market, up 16 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. Exports during the April-July period stood at 19,958 units, marking a robust 60 per cent growth.
