Severe cyclonic Dana to lash these seven districts in Odisha, bring heavy to heavy rain

Bhubaneswar: The well marked low pressure area over East-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. The system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm (to be named as Cyclone ‘Dana’) by tomorrow (October 23) and further into a severe cyclonic storm by morning of 24th October, the agency said.

In view of empending cyclone ‘Dana’, The Bhubaneswar Meterological Department has issued heavy to heavy rainfall in these seven districts that is Bhadrak, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Puri, Ganjam and Khurdha on October 23.

The IMD has issued red alert of heavy to very rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpir, Jajpur and Cuttack districts of Odisha and have also issued Orange warning to Puri, Ganjam, Khordha, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal districts on October 24.

Similarly, IMD Bhubaneswar Director Manorama Mohanty have also issued red warning with heavy to heavy rainfall in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak and Balasore and Orange warning to districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, and Sundergarh.
