Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that recent unrest in Delhi raises serious concerns, warning that “Attempts are being made to use the nation’s youth as pawns in a politics of chaos” instead of helping the country move forward.
Speaking to reporters in Uttar Pradesh’s capital on October 16, Singh criticized Rahul Gandhi and his supporters, stating that democracy cannot be used as an excuse to create disorder, attack constitutional bodies, or stop national progress.

Singh stated that the real motive behind these agitations has nothing to do with administrative complaints. He noted that the ongoing push is not truly about the Election Commission, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), or Gyanesh Kumar, nor is it about securing a better future for young people.
Instead, the Defence Minister said the campaign is openly driven by calls for regime change inspired by recent events in Bangladesh. He noted that leaders have admitted in press conferences that they are motivated by Bangladesh to bring down the government, which he said clearly shows an aim to harm democratic institutions.
Singh cautioned that when personal political gain is put ahead of truth and national interest, public debate is replaced by stubbornness and false propaganda just to grab power. He stressed that the rule of law must be respected and that constitutional bodies must not be damaged for political goals.
