30-year-old cop dragged to death by speeding car in Delhi

New Delhi: A 30-year-old police constable was killed after a car dragged him through the road in Nangloi area of Delhi late Saturday night. The cop simply asked them to slow down, in return he was dragged to death by the car. The CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced online.

The chilling road rage case has shocked the national capital. The police constable, Sandeep, was out on patrolling duty on his bike when he spotted a spotted a speeding WagonR car trying to overtake him. As the car was being driven rashly, he asked the driver to slow down. However, instead of slowing down, the car’s speed increased and it hit Sandeep’s bike from behind.

Following the hit, the car dragged Sandeep along with his bike for about 10 metres. Due to which Sandeep was seriously injured. Though, Sandeep was rushed to a nearby hospital and then referred to another hospital, he died shortly after due to head injury.

The CCTV footage shows the cop asking the car to slow down. But the car picks up speed and hits him.

Adter the accident, the occupants of the car has fled the scene. Police have seized the vehicle and are looking for them. A murder case has been registered in this connection.

The cop is survived by his mother, wife and a five-year-old son.

There has been an alarming rise in cases of road rage in Delhi. In a similar case last month, a 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was seriously assaulted and lost his life after his three-wheeler brushed against a car in Faridabad.
