Four arrested for kidnapping 11-month-old baby for begging in Gujarat, rescued

Ahmedabad: A horrific incident took place in which an 11-month-old baby was kidnapped by snatching by 3 men and 1 woman for begging in Gujarat’s Porbandar district.

The incident occurred in which mother of the victim girl said the police that she was snatched by three men and a woman after which they ran away.

Following the complaint, the police quickly came into action, formed teams for the case, checked the CCTV footages to find some kind of evidence that can help to find the girl and trace the kidnappers.

The accused were apprehended while attempting to flee on a bus. The baby was also rescued safely and was handed over to her mother by the Police.

When the arrested persons were questioned on why they kidnapped the baby, they said they wanted to use the baby for begging purpose. It was easy to snatch the baby from the lady as she was alone after his husband’s death.

The Police is now trying to investigate if they were part of any larger child trafficking or begging racket

Further investigation into this matter is underway.
