New Delhi: A helicopter carrying six people, including its pilot, is suspected to have gone down in the Joshimath region of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Friday.

As per reports, the aircraft, operated by Trans Bharat and registered as VT-HCX, was reportedly on its way from Fata to the Badrinath temple when contact with it was lost.

Initial reports suggest that the helicopter may have crashed near Chayi village, behind Hathi Pahar in Joshimath. Two helicopters have been sent to the area to trace the aircraft and locate its wreckage.
